The development comprises 34 houses near the Kaulsdorf lakes. The three-storey buildings have load-bearing masonry walls, partly prefabricated reinforced concrete floors and timber roofs. Compact layouts and efficient use of floor space form the basis of the residential concept. Large south-facing glazed openings and adaptable interiors shape the living spaces. The spatial organisation combines a clear building structure with flexibility in everyday use. Roof-mounted solar collectors and ice storage heating systems form part of the energy strategy, incorporating renewable energy into the development’s services. The role at Thoma Architekten was construction supervision in HOAI stage 8.
