The invited competition explores the densification of a site with low-density existing buildings. New volumes along the streets complement the renovation and upward extension of existing houses. The urban arrangement gives open spaces clearer boundaries and improves routes and accessible circulation. Compact buildings of four to five storeys, with central cores and consolidated service zones, accommodate a range of apartment types and allow later adaptations. Active ground-floor areas engage with the street, while shared spaces and sheltered courtyards enrich the residential setting. The role at Thoma Architekten included the design concept and 2D and 3D drawings.
