The traditional agricultural building, with its masonry ground floor and timber upper storeys, is reorganised for residential use. The design develops the living spaces within the existing building envelope while largely preserving its external appearance. The relationship between masonry and timber remains a defining feature of the building. A gallery and a new staircase structure the existing volume and connect its levels. Fixed fittings and movable furniture further organise the interior, adapting it to the requirements of residential use. The intervention brings contemporary living into the traditional fabric while retaining its distinctive character. The contribution during an internship at Studio Cecchetto & Associati covered design development at the Italian Progetto definitivo stage.
