Temporary spaces were created for the multi-day Hedoné gatherings at two historic châteaux in France and Germany. The design introduced communal uses into settings with a strong ceremonial character, opening up a more informal way of using and experiencing the existing spaces. The spatial concept brought together socialising, learning and celebration, responding to the rhythm of each gathering. Design and organisation were closely linked: spatial decisions had to accommodate the programme, technical requirements and the practicalities of hosting a temporary community. The role covered management and design, coordination with specialist trades and volunteers, event scheduling and on-site organisation, bringing these different responsibilities together throughout preparation and delivery.
